   What's the difference between Yahoo Web Hosting & Microsoft's OfficeLive?
   I have a Yahoo! site that I really love. It's easy to work with. I need to get a site and domain for a group of people. Somebody said Microsoft OfficeLive is free. What's the difference? I've seen some sites that say the name of the domain and then .officelive.com after it. What else? Why spend the .95 a month vs. nothing? There has to be an answer. I don't mind paying for it as long as it isn't too expensive (Anything under .00 preferably) and also something that's easy to use, whether it has its own on site builder or its compatible with Microsoft frontpage.      You're locked in, somewhat, to MS software; you have to put up with the "possibilities" that either (1) they may stop it someday or (2) they may decide to charge for hosting someday - they say the domain name is yours to keep, but if they decide to relinquish registration services, then you'd have to pay someone else to be "registrar. (cheap, per year plus or minus) and (3) it's somewhat constrained in customization - you can't make the web page(s) look as much like your own as you could if you wrote "raw code" and placed it on an "owned" website.

    Where can i get a website to edit with my own program?
    I am in a web design competition and I need a domain name and host that I can use Microsoft FrontPage to design. A free domain and host is preferred or something really cheap.

      FrontPage is the world's WORSE web editor and is really outdated. Word, WordPad, Publisher and even the infamous FrontPage, including many Microsoft web editors should NEVER be used for web pages. They guarantee that your web pages will NOT be cross-browser compatible because of all the Microsoft Schema code it adds. Only IE and Maxthon understand this code. Additionally, FrontPage requires server extensions be installed to work correctly. Also, OpenOffice is not a web editor.

      Can't get a free domain name unless it is part of a paid hosting package. Free sub-domains are the best you are going to do.
