      Most if not all free web hosts don't allow you to make your own apps that use server side scripting. I am unaware of any that do allow those scripts at the moment. However, depending on your application, you could possibly use some sort of client side programs to get the job done. Java, Javascript, or Flash are all well supported client side programs. With certain workarounds, you could even bypass the need for a database, as long as your needs are rather small.

    Erotic fiction, actually. I actually found a few, but installing wordpress is like pulling teeth.     I am a web developer from India.I am in a big trouble currently and need some ones help its very urgent.
    So, I was working for a employer who hired me from odesk for hourly jobs. I was working hard and he was happy too so I bought a domain vatsalmishra.com( For my portfolio website) from him as he was having hosting account at Bluehost.com. Everything was good until I stopped working for him, now I have lost my access to cpanel of bluehost but due to his generosity I can still access my domain through ftp.

    My question is, is there a way I can use database from any other domain( a free one) so my files will be at vatsalmishra.com but using database at some other domain.
    One more thing I had installed wordpress in my domain previously is there a way I can use its database for storing other records.

      Hi

      Well no, you cannot do that.

      Just FTP access to your domain won't help you.

      If you have full access to your domain account than you can re-direct it to the other database, however you need your account id and password for that domain in order to do that.

      Ask that guy if he can give you or transfer that domain to some other domain hosting provider.

      To use the database from your previous hosting, you will need cPanel credintials for it, without it you won't be able to do that.

      You aren't going to get PHP and database access for free. (And you aren't going to install Access on a hosted site.) Since you aren't going to pay for hosting, the only way you can do it is to set it up on your own computer and keep it running 24/7. You'll need to learn programming, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and SQL, and you'll need to write the program to do the work.

      The example is running JQuery and some WordPress stuff and, most likely, MySQL.

    K. So I've tried both of the above web hosts, and I find that:

    pros:
    -Reliable uup time
    -Fast loading speeds
    -mostly stable server

    cons (free version):
    -Very little disk space

    -No support for FTP

    Zymic
    pros:
    -A lot of disk space
    -100mb file size limit
    - Support of databases, forums, ftp

    cons:
    -Not AS reliable (downtimes and slowdowns during busy hours)

    So, what host should I pick.
