      You don't mention if you want a college aged student or high school. If you're looking at someone who would be going to college, I'm afraid I can't really help you. I would suggest contacting your local college to see if they have a international student's center - they might be able to help.

      If you are thinking about high school students, I can help. I do not believe (although I could be mistaken) that high school students are permitted to come for longer than a school year. Perhaps there is an exception for private schools, but I have a feeling they are limited as well.

      If I may, I would recommend contacting Youth For Understanding (YFU). Students with YFU are high school age and generally come for a full academic year. YFU does bring in students from South Korea, although the number is fairly small. YFU is one of the oldest (59ys old), largest (2500 students per year typically travel with YFU), and most respected (the founder was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize) exchange programs around. There are approximately 1400 volunteers around the country who strive to keep up YFU's good reputation. Additionally, there is a great paid staff to insure that everything is done professionally.

      I would recommend checking out the websites. Other business sites come up with simalar names but from other parts or the country. I thought if I did a search on yahoo it would definetly come up because they were hosting it. I realize because I am doing the site myself I would probobly have a problem reaching everyone I wanted to but i cant even find myself.

      When you publish your site with Yahoo!, we automatically submit your site to Yahoo! Search, but unfortunately this doesn't always mean that your site will beat out other sites in the search results -- there's a lot of competition out there, and many sites jockeying for the same top spots.

    Finding out the Web host of an internet site???
    Is there any way to find out what web host service a site uses? Say you go to a site called www.ilovecheese.com and you like the features on their site and want to know what web hosting service they go through, is there any way to tell? Other then asking them I mean. Not all sites have a "contact me" link. When someone uses a free hosting site, you know who they go through because part of their URL is the company name. But when they pay for the service, it is often just their domain (which I realize they also pay for separately sometimes) I'm just curious.

      If you need highly scalable web hosting which can sustain millions of visitors, then best way is to implement highly scalable system that can grow along as the user base grows. I have done something like this for my clients

      You can go in for clustering with load balancing servers. As the load increases you can add up more servers without creating downtime. Since this is a higher end solution I think it will be generally expensive and it needs lot of expertise. You could workout this deal cheaper by contacting www.netandhost.com where they have got custom solution with Linux. As the load increase you can add more servers to the clusters and this makes the solution again cheaper. They have got a solution which is much similar to what google is using. It works out very well. Apart from this take a dedicated bandwidth so that you can avoid the data transfer plan. You wont have these kind of solution in web. So you need to write email to them.

    I am looking for a web host that has a terms of service agreement that I can live with. Having spent hours reading several dozen agreements from different companies, I have found none acceptable.
    I will not agree to provide free legal defense to everybody the host ever met for anything that isn't the direct action of me or my agents.
    I will not agree that the host can change a legal agreement between us without my written agreement to the changes.
    I will not enter a contract that gives any company or their affiliates the right to spam me (see lunarpages TOS).
    I will not agree that the host can cancel my service and own the content of my site.
    I will not agree that the host can charge me 0-0 for backcharging my credit card. Back charging is one of the few ways available to protect against lack of service or fradulant billing.

    Are there any web hosting services out there that have reasonable terms?
    I have checked terms on all the sights recommended so far, and I am very concerned for those of you who have agreed to the TOS on any of those sites. They own you.

    I have three fantasy football leagues that I am looking to migrate over to a league manageent system run on the web. we have used a stand-alone PC system for 10 years, but that company will no longer release there aoftware following this season - they want everyone to move to their web site for league management.       Yahoo has a decent site, and it's free. It does not support ongoing (season over season) tracking. but it's free.

      ESPN has a similar product, inmyopinion not quit as good as yahoo, is free, and I think will let you maintain rosters over seasons.

      Both of these 'free' services really push you to buy upgrades, especially ESPN.

      Sportsline has a service (costs like 0 or something), so everybody kicks in per team, and is definitely a notch up, if you want to spend th money.

      In my opinion, I'd rather use one of the free services (yahoo, usually) and put the cash in the pool for the league winner. Yahoo gets their money off he advertising; it's not like they are hurting.
