  5. QUESTION:
What are the best blog hosts and social networking sites that are free of censorship?
I'm asking on behalf of a non-American who wants to write about a topic that is believes is likely to be censored in his country.

The topic is not sexually-oriented nor illegal.

So, please suggest some sites (blogs or social-networking) that are:

Popular (of course!) preferably in many parts of the world not just USA and UK.
Accessible to general audiences (because this is not porn or terrorist stuff) of a wide range of ages.
Not censored or subject to "review."
    Not exclusively politically-oriented.
Can accommodate text and other media (images/video) (which rules out Youtube and Dailymotion which are basically video-only).

  7. QUESTION:
Hey I've heard you can make money online blogging through the internet is this true?
I took a step by step 6 day eCourse through a site called Kleek.Ca about a month ago called "Pocket Change Profits" and it took me through the whole process of setting up your blog for under per month so I followed through with it. So far so good, I'm just having trouble driving traffic and subscribers to my website...

    Any suggestions?

    Additional details:

The site sold no products or anything and the course walked me through DETAILED methods and showed me how to host and make my blog step by step which made it seem scam free =) It even gave me links for discounts to some really popular sites like GoDaddy and HostGator! I only had to pay 1 penny to have my site hosted for a month which made it risk free. I am really impressed with the course I took, but I just want to know how to improve traffic to my website!

I can't stop raving about this really great eCourse either so if you get a moment I would definitely take the time to check it out! I figure why spend all this time answering questions when you could take part of that time and make a blog =)

Anyways generating traffic answers for me below would be awesome thanks!

    • ANSWER:

everyone that I know who works from are have never been scammed.

I gues,s..,. you just need to look,.

  8. QUESTION:
    Wordpress Blog Question?
If I have a free wordpress blog and then it becomes popular and I want to move my blog to my own site with my own domain and host, is this possible to transfer over? If so, how? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
As far as I've been able to tell, you can't do a direct transfer. It's much easier to get your own domain at the very beginning (GoDaddy.com is good, cheap source), and install WordPress (from wordpress.org) on it. That way you don't lose any traffic in a transfer.

If you start with the free site, there's no reason that you can't individually copy and paste all your posts into the new site, but that would be a major pain and probably not worth the trouble.

  9. QUESTION:
Please help, creating a java socket server with flash clients for multiplayer flash games?
I have hopes to make some type of multiplayer flash game but first I'm trying to just get something functional across the internet. I'm new to all of this and have done much research but I am still trying to understand everything.
I want to create an AS3 flash game, upload the swf to a free housting website like what geocities was, and then have people be able to go to the website and through the swf play games, communicate, or anything. example: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/393177
I know flash clients can't communicate directly but need to go through a server, and there are many popular(some expensive) hosts like SmartFox, which also include easy to use APIs for making games, but I would rather, for now atleast, learn how to code my own java socket server and host it myself.
    I've followed tutorials such as these. http://www.broculos.net/tutorials/how_to_make_a_multi_client_flash_java_server/20080320/en http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/sockets/clientServer.html http://giantflyingsaucer.com/blog/?p=205
I did not get the first one to work due to some xml crossdomain sercrity issues, but I have created some flash and java clients that do work to my knowledge without creating a policy server. I have gone through different chat room tutorials and they work, but I'm not sure if it is what I want because I have only figured out how to test accessing the java server locally. I am unsure how I would be able to put the swf on a free hosting site (I am using angelfire.lycos.com) and access it from multiple remote ips across the internet. Can anyone who has experience or knowledge give me some direction or links to tutorials with creating and housting your own java socket server that communicates with swf files hosted on some other webdomain. I think I know some concepts well, but unsure about the whole process and how to facilitate the client/brower/socket server connection. ANY HELP very much appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
I haven't tested this but I would imagine you can just create a link to an applet that runs a server. Now you'll have to have a site that allows php/mysql or asp/sql or some type of database configuration manipulation. This database is reading from a specific port.. Now here comes the untested part if you have the server read from the same port which should be ported through the server side you may be able to listen on that port as well. Normally free sites do not have database features so you'll have to most likely get a paid site. and I would definitly call and ask them before I purchased anything.

If this doesn't work and you can't find one that allows a port to be opened for your then I'm afraid hosting your self is the only option left.

  10. QUESTION:
How significant of a “gender event” (in the U.S.) was this?
Yes, I am referring to the public reaction in the U.S., not the crime, but the reaction to the real torture, mutilation and crippling of an innocent man. Was the reaction of the 5 hosts of a mainstream, popular women's TV (CBS, “The Talk”) and the entire in-studio audience an anomaly? Note that all of these gave the appearance of feeling VERY comfortable, joking and laughing long and hard for 5 minutes? Or was it a great deal more? Note that this show was televised to an audience of millions of female viewers who were "targeted" as viewers that CBS thought would find this funny. Was CBS wrong? Or are there very large numbers of American women who find the real torture, mutilation and permanent crippling of a man funny? Any man?

If so, I claim, this is of enormous importance to gender relations – and we ought to be talking about it much more than we are. If so, this is, by far, the gender event of the year and the decade. Because if it is so, this is a truly singular event: here is no precedent in recent history whereby common men or women in all social strata literally and openly “get off” on the torture and mutilation of the opposite sex. Questions immediately emerge, such as why is this?, how did we get to this?, how do we fix this?, how should we react to this?

However, since there are no “scientific” polls out on public opinion on this (someone would have to pay the polling companies), one is left with looking at other popular measures of public sentiment such as media coverage, response to media coverage and popular blogs. And though they may not necessarily be statistically representative, they certainly can convincingly demonstrate that a large number of people do or do not find pleasure in the crime in question.

To answer this for myself I did a little homework, looking at media coverage, reactions to media, talk show discussions, and popular blogs. If you start by Googling “women humor cut off penis”, you get 1.2 MILLION hits. If you try to be more specific by Googling “women humor catherine becker”, you get 1.6 MILLION hits. If you browse these links yourself, you will quickly find dozens of videos of popular-media shows where the women openly laugh at the matter. Similarly, with the blogs, very widespread female amusement. While I do not believe this is the majority of women, it is certainly a large minority that openly find pleasure in this crime.

(Note - intact you tube links invariably end up hiding the question, so I have introduced spaces.)

    CBS’s “The Talk” infamous episode:
    you tube .com /watch?v=yRilKMv5Py4&feature=related

Cable Channel RT America, “The Alyona Show’ (starts at 7:30 in the video) a talk show about the news, where the two female hosts ask “Why doesn’t this happen more often? Why aren’t more penis’s being ground up in garbage disposals” and “Isn’t is funny how uncomfortable men are with this story?”
    you tube .com /user/TheAlyonaShow#p/search/0/FOkIV_hUhso

Cable Channel USA, “The Nic and Neeley Show”, a show for young women, where the two women hosts cannot stop laughing during the entire show and choose to show one of the hosts chopping up a hot dog for the “humor effect”
    you tube .com /watch?v=A0KKPa-4GVE

HuffingtonPost’s “Weird News” asks when do men deserve to have their penis cut off?
    you tube. com /watch?v=HZlbdaHbKJI&feature=related

What about blogs? Read the Huffington Post’s blog on this matter, where thousands respond and at least 50% of the women find humor in it, or the LA Times, or any of thousands of links when you Google it.

Indeed, even “Mom’s Sites” are getting in on the “fun”. Witness the many “humorous” threads and posts on CafeMom, of which I’ll list one that is representative, but feel free to browse CafeMom for yourself: http://www.cafemom.com/group/416/forums/read/14538447/sharon_osbourn_apologized_on_the_talk_for_laughing_at_woman_cutting_mans_penis_off

    • ANSWER:
I don't think MEN stand up enough about the subject, we know what they are thinking but why not be vocal about it?? I think this issue deserves a bracelet of some sort, silly as it sounds it would be a silent protest and a way of people seeing visually how big of a gender or societal issue it really is.

There are ribbons and bracelets against dv and breast cancer, why not against violence/mutilation(circumcision)against men/boys ??? I say you do it rowdy..I would wear one and give a speech to anyone and everyone that asked about it. Tshirt would be great, but realistically how many people would wear one? Judging by your posts, mannnny women have no idea what their reactions "mean" to men everywhere. It's important and keep up the good fight. :)

I say someone needs to start an international campaign to bring awareness to this subject...asap
Find celebrity backers....it's time is now
