Demerits and Merits of Cheap Web Hosting Services
Around about a decade ago web hosting services were scarce to come by, there weren’t many companies out there and quite frankly, it is very expensive to be hosting one’s own website. Since there were not many companies finding a professional service was even harder. But now things have improved, web hosting companies have grown like mushrooms and there is no scarcity of such services. Web hosting services can also be availed at very cheap prices and hence one can choose the services accordingly as suited to him.
Needless to say that people will always choose cheap and yet quality services over the more expensive web hosting service providers. Cheap services help save 'money, which is important for small business, especially for the ones which have just started. Such businesses have to look for ways to save up money from any avenues possible. Some think that there are some problems associated in using cheap services. Let us look at some possible problems as well as advantages of using cheap web hosting services.
The advantages first:
• In terms of affordability, it is best to avail cheap web hosting services. Not many people can pay and maintain costly services, but that shouldn’t be a reason not to achieve a dream of opening up online business and for that, gaining more visibility over web and reaching out to new customers becomes essential.
• Cheap web hosting takes away a degree of tension for small online business starters, bust most people have a prejudiced idea that cheap services are not up to the scratch when it comes to quality. But one will be surprised at the amount of disk space and as well as the bandwidth. The space provided is also sufficient to have the website up and running.
• There are technical support available too although it is cheap, the customer service provided by these web hosting services are manned by top notch experts. They are available 24 X 7 ready to answer your questions and offering you solutions regarding any trouble that you may face. They help solve technical troubles and that too very promptly. One important advantage these cheaper hosting services have advantage over bigger companies is that since they are also looking to reduce cost and hence their service tend to be much faster.
Now for the disadvantages:
• The problem with cheap website hosting is that it may lack security. Security is a issue that is constantly challenged in the web and since most hosting companies use shared services, that is to say that many companies come together sharing the server resources. This type of hosting is called shared hosting and it cannot guarantee security. Some companies do offer security but it cannot be said that it is sufficient; then again it depends upon the sort of use you’ll put it through.
There were some advantages as well as disadvantages of cheap web hosting services. It is clear that the advantages outweigh the disadvantage but the security issue is a single most important factor that can thwart the potential users of cheap web hosting services.

QUESTION:
An honest answer about hosting providers? Pls help.?
I know there's a lot of spam out there when reviewing hosting providers. So I'm not sure. What web hosting do you recommend (by your experience) not for a start-up business; that may grow in users. A web hosting that is reliable, fast, good customer service etc This site may be a big forum. Please according to your experience (reviews seem false to me).-
ANSWER:
Most reviews are false. But look at it this way:
iPage will pay me 5 to send you to them.
I am instead telling you to go to:http://hostingpad.mestore.us/
only .99 a month
first domain free
additional domains /year
I have many sites hosted with them.

QUESTION:
Hosting reviews? GoDaddy, Netfirms, Yahoo, etc...?
I've been unable to find a reliable website with credible hosting reviews. Here's what I'm looking for:1- multiple domains
2- low monthly prices (under 10 USD per month)
3- no annual commitments
4- responsive customer service
5- no push marketing strategy (I currently use GoDaddy, and they push like nothing I've ever seen before)
6- ease-of-use (Yahoo's interface is extremely user-friendly)
7- 200gb of storage and 2000 gb of bandwidth (not asking a lot here)So, what's the deal here? HostGator seems like the obvious choice, but I think they use deceptive marketing practices, including the use of sister sites, such as Blue Host and Host Monster. Yahoo won't allow me to use multiple domains with one hosting account. GoDaddy is reasonably priced, but the user-panel is extremely unfriendly and they use aggressive marketing strategies. Netfirms bills quarterly maintenance fees without annual contracts.
Once again... What's the deal?

QUESTION:
Best web host for my specific needs?
I looked around and so far all the websites listing / reviewing web hosts seem to be either poorly constructed, in business with the hosts they advertise and not at all objective. So instead of crawling the net, i decided to ask peoples opinion.Heres the deal: I'm a graphic designer / web designer and i generally know what the hell i'm doing. Right now i'm stuck with justhost, and i really do hate it pretty bad. I guess they base their features around it being "so easy a beginner could do it" but if you're not interested in using their site builder, wordpress, or any of their other features, you basically have to work around all the clutter they left for you. I'm sick of all the little sh** thats out of place, like not being able to find the "config.inc.php" file for phpmyadmin, not being able to connect to my FTP accounts and then talking with a robot (yeah, a ROBOT) for an hour while he lists off FAQs i've already checked...
I'm thinking its probably just best to find a reliable web host with only the functionality i cant install myself for free. Hopefully one with decent customer service.
So maybe you could read through all the stuff i plan to do with my hosting service and then tell me any names that pop into your head:
I code all my sites in adobe dreamweaver and i've got a nifty little application called Transmit that lets me turn my ftp server into web attached storage so its as easy as drag and drop. I'm probably going to have some sort of IRC or instant messaging chat on my site and i'll most likely find a third party plugin... That kind of coding is beyond my skill level. One of my sites in progress is a social networking site, and it uses jQuery, PHP, and mySQL to accomplish that at the moment. I need autoreply emailers and email forwarding at the least. I plan to add my own error pages so i need .htaccess. i need support for multiple domains, one for my portfolio and design website, and one for my social networking site. i might pursue an idea regarding adult entertainment, so if the host allows adult content that would be something to consider. My sites might gain a bit of traffic, so i need a host that will work WITH me instead of kicking me out on the curb or slapping on crazy fees when my traffic exceeds their limits. I dont like the idea of all my personal data a whois search away, so domain privacy would be nice. And SSL / merchant services would be nice too...-

QUESTION:
What website hosting service would be the best host for website? Read for more info?
I'm looking for a website host that is reliable and can host forums. I especially would like the ability to put up downloads and i can add ads to make some of my money back. Besides that I'm hoping to get a high traffic rate geared towards the website. Therefore it would be perfect if i could get unlimited bandwith and traffic in the package. I'm looking for a paid website so i can get the ability to register a domain name. No biased reviews if possible, im looking for honesty. I was looking at ipage and host gator though.

QUESTION:
Best Web Hosting for Small Business and Multiple Domains?
Hello,I know this has been asked before, but I've searched many web sites and reviews and I'm still confused. So, I've narrowed it down to Hostmonster, Bluehost, and Lunarpages. I'm a pretty technical guy, but I'm looking for a reliable web host for multiple domains that some will use databases. I'm not so concerned about a "simple" web site creator, as opposed to one that follows the HTML & CSS standards. I was going to go with 1&1 after seeing their huge ads in PC Magazine until I read the reviews. Thus, I'm not so concerned about cheap, just a service that is reliable, professional, and popular. In other words, what service would a developer recommend and use?
Thanks,
Brett
This is what concerns me: http://www2.jeffcroft.com/blog/2006/feb/27/11-internet-is-the-devil/.And then I just happened to stumble across DreamHost: http://www.dreamhost.com/aboutus.html. They are employee-owned, which in and of itself impresses me about a company. Any customer reviews on this company?

ANSWER:
I may not be as picky (mean that in a good way!) as you are because I definitely don't consider myself a "professional" compared to friends who have web design businesses, but we've been really happy with Host Excellence. ( http://www.hostexcellence.com/templates/he/v1/affiliate/clickthru.cgi?id=JTcaneel )There are a ton of paid web hosts out there, and my husband and I exhausted ourselves researching them before making a decision to go with HostExcellence for this site and another one we run. Ultimately, it came down to the fact that we were getting tired and we liked HostExcellence's plans for mulitple domains and the fact that they had a site builder with tons of customizable templates (many of them do, but some of the good ones on the review lists don't). My husband doesn't use the site builder for his -- he does his own code. I use the site builder until I'm more proficient on Nvu. We also liked the amount of storage and bandwidth we were given, among other things. I haven't had a complaint yet, and we've been customers since October 2005. They have excellent 24/7 live chat support that helps me all the time with just about any issue you can imagine. Whenever a service has been down (which has only been a few times), it's either back up before I have a chance to ask about it or it's resolved before I get off live chat with them. They have a ton of tools at your service, we have more e-mails available than we'll ever use, and more bandwidth and storage space than we've come close to dipping into. They have ftp storage and a really easy thing called webshell that makes it pretty simple to do ftp stuff. Php boards, databases, etc. are all available. Good luck!

QUESTION:
Hosting Provider That Offers 20GB Or More?
I see so many different ones, but most only had bad reviews, and good reviews tend to be fake some say. Im not sure what the best one for me is. Also I don't want to go with one that are known to screw people over, I like to upload a lot of stuff, don't like having restrictions. Most sites want you pay 300+ dollars for 20GB Disk space,Web Space Traffic Server Resources
20GB 1000GB .00 dollars a monthAll I know is I rather go with one that had unlimited but no such sites exist, being web storage/space to host my files on, also a site where I can host my domain name the above just for price of a Semi Dedicated hosting. Yes Ive heard of shared hosting. I just want to go with a reliable service that other people use and know and trust, not one that sells you lies and gimmicks. Being you get what you paid for. Any help be great on this. Actual sites and people replying be great!
-
ANSWER:
i agree that no web host can really offer unlimited hosting. in fact "unlimited" is used on shared hosting. it means you can run yr site on a server as u need as long as yr site doesn't effect other sites on the same server.as for web hosts, i recommend u to try hostgator. it a top host, the servers are more stable. they offer shared hosting, vps and dedi server. a vps is better than shared plan. the price of vps starting at /mo. use coupon GOODLUCK25 can get 25% off any plan any term.
goodluck.

QUESTION:
What's the best web hosting site to use?
I need to create a website for my business. I don't like the idea of using a free web hosting service because I want to own my own domain name. I've read a lot of bad reviews for GoDaddy.com and I'm not familar with any other web hosting sites. I need some advice on which web host site I should use and why. QUESTION:
What is the deal with Fatcow.com hosting?
I've seen a lot of good things about fatcow - many good reviews, but the bad ones are scaring me a little. I like the good things about fatcow... a lot, actually. My website is hosted on register.com right now, and that is horrendously expensive. Plus I've been getting phone calls from them every two hours! Literally! I'm getting sick of the prices and the annoyance and I want to terminate my account on register.com.As before said, I am very interested in Fatcow; it looks very interesting and much, much more affordable seeing as I plan on hosting a few other websites in the future, though I have one right now. However, I am seeing some very scary reviews saying things like they put charges on your credit card for seemingly no reason. If you try to terminate service with them they will charge you .00, among other things; they don't uphold their refund guarantee at all, and even reviews saying that their service is awful, though it seems like almost all reviews say they have amazing or awful service, not any in-between. I've also seen reviews saying that nothing works, they can't get their site to upload, a lot of unexpected removal of sites, extremely slow performance and ridiculous amounts of downtime. Basically everything I'm seeing is scary, despite the majority being good.
I'm not sure what to think about Fatcow hosting. Bluehost seems to have a similar service, but you have to pay for 24 months to get a remotely decent price per month. They appear to be a much larger company than Fatcow but there isn't any indication on Fatcow's site as to how large they are.
Another site that looks to be extremely reliable is InMotion. Their service seems impeccable, but you sure do pay for it. The plan that would be best suited for me is 8.95 a month which is more than both Fatcow and Bluehost. All the same I feel like InMotion is probably the most reliable of the three... Don't know why. Not many bad reviews, anyway.
I suppose I just want to know if anyone has actually had any of these problems with Fatcow. It's a bit scary to think of them actually adding charges on your credit card for no reason... Also, if possible, could I get some reviews of Bluehost and InMotion as well, if anyone has has experience with these hosts?
I am a web designer. I don't use free templates. I have a Flash website, and I intend to design all of my websites in the future. I need a host who is going to provide actual storage space, FTP, etc, and doesn't just have template-based sites.-

QUESTION:
Is www.madbeetech.com a reputable site?
MadBeeTech is an e-commerce hosting site that says that for /month, it will host an online small business website. The prices look great, but I can find almost nothing written about it online that doesn't look like it could be self-promotion. On the other hand, I can't find anything saying it's a scam or a bad service. A reliable testimonial or review would be great.-
ANSWER:
I never used their services and I don't know anyone who has, so I can't say from experience. However, a little basic research reveals the following. The site is 4 years old, so it didn't just spring up lately - it's been in business for years. I followed their checkout procedure (but didn't finish it and actually buy), and it goes through PayPal. So, the site never gets access to credit card info (PayPal doesn't release that info). I found a few sites hosted by them (looks like madbeetech includes a link back to their site on hosted sites, so you can come across some sites that way). Here's a few, for what that's worth:www.yuspace.net

QUESTION:
Better shopping cart for beginners, Zen Cart or osCMax?
I've been reading through the installation guides on both, and they seem pretty straightforward. However, I'm not a programmer, so I need one that is easy to use and not too outdated. Also, I'm thinking of using godaddy to host it (mainly because they are a well-known company and I can't find reliable reviews of other low budget hosts). All of the hosts brag about the awards they've one, but some are junk. Just when I think I've found a good company, I find actual user reviews and most slam the companies for unethical conduct or poor customer service. Any advice on a good host for an ecommerce site with approximately 2,500 products would be appreciated.-
ANSWER:
I would recommend fatcow for building an e-commerce website. Along with their hosting package are free e-commerce tools that can help you build your web store easily like:
-Credit Card Processing(iPayment, paypal)
-Shopping Cart(ShopSite Shopping Carts)
-SSL Certificates(QuickSSL Premium Certificate,Extended Validation SSL Certificate)
-Doba. Product Sourcing. Simplified.(allows you to access to over 1.5 million products, which can be sold on your site without worrying about inventory management or shipping)
Hope that helps.

QUESTION:
Is there any difference with whom you register your domain name? Why pay if you can get it for ?Any diff?
There is big difference how much WEB domain name costs depending upon who is selling it. What difference does it make for me from whom I buy it? Should I go for cheapest? Are there any known risks? I was looking at Verio.com who asks .95/year. I read some reviews and they appear to be legit company, but WEB hosting isn’t very reliable. Should I worry about it? QUESTION:
Looking for a web domain host.?
I need a website as I am a game artist but I can't find any domain hosts that fit my needs. The top results are sites like iPage and goDaddy which have gotten bad reviews by people like me who need lots of space, good service, plenty of features (although template features not necessary because I will use Dream Weaver) and reliable servers. I don't want to spend more than a month but sites that I mentioned just won't do. I need unlimited bandwidth and unlimited data storage and most importantly reliable servers and no chance of technical problems.
Edit: Looked at site build and although the example site is quite impressive, the host itself doesn't look very professional and I worry about reliability.-
ANSWER:
Godaddy is a fine domain name registrar and web host to go through. sounds like you disagree, however. (even though it sounds like you, personally, haven't tried it)although Godaddy is not user friendly, free FTP programs make it easier to manage your site.
This screen cast demonstrates the use of free FTP programs to make your website easier to manage:

ANSWER:
I am a native speaker of American English. I hope that my advice is useful to you.The first sentence of Ad 1 sounds a bit odd: the second sentence is OK grammatically, but "host" implies a person (a game show host?).
Ad 2: the first sentence is definitely off. The second sentence is OK grammatically, but "hosts" still implies people.
Ad 3 (the first one): this is my favorite. Both sentences work fine.
Ad 3 (the second one): both the first ("Best 3 Web Host Reviews") and the second sentences ("Compare Top Affordable Hosts") sound like you are reviewing and comparing people who are hosts.
Ad 4: the first sentence works, more or less. The second sentence is very clear.
Hope this helps!

QUESTION:
Could someone who speaks English as their first language comment on these short sentences please?
.............
Hi to all,I want to advertise my site with google search engine. I want to be certain that my texts are without any grammatical mistakes. Since I have limitation in number of my used letters, please don’t try to edit my sentences to improve them. If they are acceptable to use and are not odd sentences please don’t suggest touch them.
